Looking to masses or ordinary players and designing wilderness content towards the uninvolved masses is literally the worst possible perspective to consider imo, because the average player is incredibly risk-adverse and non-confrontational and that literally conflicts with what the wilderness is trying to be. Wilderness content and reworks should be targeted towards the players that enjoy these cut-throat interactions and keeping it interesting and engaging for players on both sides. The wilderness isn't for everyone and it wasn't designed for everyone. I'm not going to comment on everything you said, just this specifically - Why in the world are you coming into this from the perspective as if Wilderness content is for everyone, and not just niche content? ![]() The average person is going to weight all of these things and just decide to not bother. Then I don’t lose everything I worked for just a small bit of profit and can bring whatever I want with out worry. If you really want to force predator vs prey remove the drop everything on death in the wilderness if I’m unskulled and just let me risk my death fee that would be dropped for other players. Even if it’s like 5m an hour I would rather do vorkath since it’s more fun and don’t have to worry about kills getting ruined by people attacking me. The risk will never out weigh the reward. Anytime you do wilderness content you are just hoping you don’t have to deal with pkers. In the wilderness the content is the same getting attacked is just an annoyance that adds nothing and only subtracts from the experience. With other content such as raids or high level pvm at least the high attention leads to greater loot. Third it’s not fun or engaging to be attacked in the wilderness it just sucks. First you have to have full attention for boring task and you also have the chance to lose all the loot you just worked for. Why is that? Because the random chance of being attacked completely ruins both aspects of the game people find fun. Meanwhile the wilderness versions of these are dead. This is obviously something people find appealing because a decent amount of people play this game and you can always find people at some of the better bosses or skilling training areas. The way you accomplish this is usually through uninteresting grinds where you can click and forget for a couple of minutes and watch a show or something. The other part that is fun is getting rare drops and gaining money to buy things to progress you account. The game is fun because you can have a sense of progression and accomplishment. The game is not an extremely fun and engaging game. To understand why predator vs prey is so bad for osrs you have to understand why people play this game.
